LINEAR SWEEP GENERATOR
This circuit provides a linear time-base with a sweep time adjustable from a few milliseconds to over one minute.
The constant-current of emitter follower Q1 causes C1 to be charged at a constant rate. The increasing voltage across C1 will be essentially inear (displacement error is less than 1%). The sweep is terminated when the increasing capacitor voltage reaches the peak valley point of uni junction Q2. When capacitor C1 will discharge through the current limiting resistor R1.
